CPR Training Session –Sub District Hospital Tangmarg
Reroot Foundation of India conducted a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session for the staff of Sub-District Hospital, Tangmarg (Baramulla). The session was led by Dr. Shalender Kour, who provided hands-on training and essential knowledge on life-saving emergency response techniques.
The initiative aimed to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals by equipping them with critical skills required during medical emergencies. The participants showed great enthusiasm, and the session received a highly positive response.

Awareness Program on Social Security Schemes, Health & Hygiene, Khankah, Block Khag, District Budgam.

The program aimed to educate women and adolescent girls on government welfare schemes and essential health practices.
The session on social welfare schemes was led by Mr. Shabir Ahmad, a representative of the Social Welfare Department. He provided detailed information on key schemes, including the Old Age Pension Scheme, Widow Pension Scheme, Disability Pension Scheme, Ladli Beti Scheme, Marriage Assistance Scheme, and Pre and Post -Matric Scholarships. Participants were also guided on eligibility criteria, required documentation, and the application process.
The health awareness session was conducted by Ms. Tabasum Ijaz from the Health Department. She highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, sanitation, and preventive healthcare. Special emphasis was placed on menstrual health awareness, covering the safe use and disposal of sanitary products and addressing social taboos associated with menstruation.
WOMEN’S HEALTH SEMINAR –TANGMARG
Reroot Foundation of India organised a comprehensive seminar on Women’s Health at Town Hall, Tangmarg, Baramulla. The programme was held in the presence of BDO Tangmarg, Dr. Syed Idrees, and brought together medical experts to address key health concerns affecting women. The seminar began with a session on pre-conception counselling by Dr. Zainab Drabu, senior gynecologist who highlighted the importance of planning for a healthy pregnancy, nutritional awareness, and early medical guidance for couples.
This was followed by sessions on the effects of PCOS on mental health by Dr. Qurat Masoodi; infertility IUI and IVF and precautions by embryologist Dr Sadiya Drabu, awareness on endometriosis and female hormonal imbalances by Ms. Nuzhat Khurshid from the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, University of Kashmir.
Experts particularly emphasised the mental health impact of endometriosis, highlighting its stronga ssociation with depression, anxiety, chronic stress, social isolation, and reduced quality of life. They underlined the importance of early diagnosis, integrated medical and psychological care, and routine mental health screening to improve the overall wellbeing of affected women.
The session also included active participation from patients, with doctors providing one-to-one counselling and guidance. Discussions further covered mental health awareness and parenting-related challenges, offering practical advice to attendees.
The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, reflecting Reroot Foundation’s continued commitment to promoting women’s health, awareness, and community wellbeing across the region
